Project details

NEO Bankside enjoyed sweet success at this summer’s London Festival of Architecture. Camron worked with Native Land and Grosvenor, who are jointly building the new development (designed by Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners) to commission sculptor Brendan Jamison to make scale models of Tate Modern and the four NEO Bankside pavilions entirely from sugar cubes. The sculptures, which took five months to build and used over 80,000 sugar cubes, took centre stage at a cool and sophisticated garden party in the sales pavilion to launch the Bankside hub of the Festival and, over the weekend, children of all ages tried their hand at making follies, castles and fantastical structures at workshops out of sugar cubes. Graham Stirk, the lead architect, gave an exclusive talk to 60 guests, followed by a champagne reception and there were hard hat site tours of the buildings led by the architects and project experts. Camron ensured that NEO Bankside received plentiful publicity for their contribution to the Festival, with coverage in the Evening Standard, Metro, Time Out, Radio London and countless publications, blogs and websites in the UK and around the world.
