Project details

Camron invited five senior editors to Venice to visit the headquarters of Rubelli, a leading textiles brand and a family firm which was founded in 1858. Rubelli produces luxury furnishing fabrics and last year collaborated with interior brand, Armani/Casa to produce a textiles collection, designed by Giorgio Armani himself.

Rubelli is based at a Palazzo on the Grand Canal which also houses an archive-museum which contains 3,000 textile records and 7,000 fabrics produced by the company. The oldest documents date back to the late Middle Ages and the early Renaissance and is a treasure trove of drawings and materials. Rubelli’s CEO, Nicolò Rubelli outlined the remarkable history of the company and Fabrice Gouffran from Armani/Casa described the inspiration behind Giorgio Armani’s first textile collection with Rubelli.

Editors were also given a rare private tour of the famous theatre, La Fenice, which was destroyed by fire in 1996. It was rebuilt with the support of Rubelli and, once again, Rubelli silk damasks decorate the magnificent theatre.

The stunning Rubelli Palazzo provided an impressive backdrop to a private dinner, completing a very special Venetian experience.
