Project details

Last night David Gill Galleries hosted the opening dinner at the Vauxhall Gallery for Oriel Harwood’s new exhibition “Queen of Baroque: 25 Years of Extravagance”. The dinner for 75 collectors, press and friends of Oriel was a lively event, with David Gill making a toast in celebration of Oriel’s remarkable career.

Oriel’s new works included stunning baroque-inspired tables, chandeliers and candelabrum – shimmering in their candle light – with nine pieces in total. Although highly ornate and decorative in their style, the contemporary setting of David Gill Galleries was the ideal platform to show off their intricate nature. Guests were amazed to discover how each piece had been crafted by Oriel in clay by hand, then cast in pieces before being finished in gold and silver.

The exhibition runs until 27th June.
