This week – Kvadrat, the leading Danish textile and textile–related products developer for interiors, opened its eagerly anticipated new flagship showroom in London to complement its other major showrooms in Milan, Stockholm and Copenhagen.
On Wednesday the showroom, which was created through an unusual collaboration between the legendary graphic designer and art director Peter Saville and acclaimed architect David Adjaye, hosted a press preview over a traditional danish lunch, attended by 35 key UK & international journalists.
Last night 400 guests joined Kvadrat and Wallpaper* to see the design and meet the creative team behind this unsual and inspiring space. The night’s guests included Patricia Moroso, Jamie Hayon, Ilse Crawford, John Small, Giulio Ridolfo, Adam Caruso and of course David Adjaye and his team, Peter Saville and many others.
Throughout the evening a special animation movie commisioned especailly for the opening, was shown. Created as a reference to the staircase – the eye catcher in the showroom, this was inspired on the famous record sleeve Peter Saville made for New Order’s Blue Monday.
