New furniture by tord boontje launched in paris Swarovski Crystal Palace
Camron visited Paris for Maison et Objet, and a Preview Dinner at soon-to-open store Merci. At Maison we noticed that the trend for neutrals in accessories continues with an emphasis on natural colours and materials while another popular theme was animals – stuffed, embroidered etc. One stand had deer heads mounted on a wall, but these were fashioned out of floral fabrics.
Merci’s dinner was held in the store in the Marais district. While it is still a building site it’s on course to open on 5th March. Guests enjoyed a preview of some of the products chosen for the new store, along with a delicious Chestnut and Fennel soup made by Merci’s founder Marie France Cohen.
Swarovski Crystal Palace exhibited a dazzling exhibition of lighting and furniture, including new glass and crystal furniture pieces by Tord Boontje. The centrepiece of the stand, Cascade, was designed by Vincent van Duysen, this year’s Maison et Objet Scénes d’intérieur Designer 2009.
Kvadrat hosted a party on Thursday evening at Gallerie Kreo to mark the launch of Clouds in Paris, designed by the Bouroullec brothers who attended the party. Installations of Clouds adorned the walls of the gallery and were much admired by guests.
