Project details

This was my fifth visit to Dubai and it certainly seemed to have an air of emptiness and anticipation whereas in the past there was a quick pace to the city. The Burj Dubai is 13 stories away from completion and there is too much at stake to hold this up, while other developments are being put on ice. An entire community seems to have been built around this building and The Dubai Mall is now open in the adjacent street. After the ‘wow’ factor of the Mall of the Emirates, this holds its own complete with skating rink and aquarium.

Rockwell Group, has done a brilliant job with the Nobu in the Atlantis – so impressive and we like the fact they now have an office in Dubai. The Gate Village, which will be officially launched in March, is nearing completion in the Financial District. It will be a refreshing change from the high buildings since it has been designed on a human scale. Villa Moda will be opening two stores and Zuma is already open. All eyes in the Gulf are also on Abu Dhabi with the Louve interior architect announced, Nathalie Criniere and the new museum in Doha is taking the world by storm.
