‘T1 Fold Light’ by Established & Sons

I love design that is characterised not only by a beautiful outcome, but by an efficient manufacturing process. The ‘T1 Fold Light’ by Established & Sons is manufactured from a single sheet of steel folded several times, with no need for additional fixings. I admire its simplicity and although referencing tradition, the lamp is entirely dependent on new technology and manufacturing skills for production. The ‘Fold Light’ is an iconic piece of British design and now forms part of the permanent design collection at MOMA in New York. The T1 was given to me as a present and this unique colour was never chosen for production; it stands with pride of place on my desk!
