Foodies beware: Westbourne Grove is now home to the spectacular Gloucestershire-based farm shop outlet, Daylesford Organic- and once you enter, it may be difficult to leave. With beautiful white stone and glass counters encasing rows of organic meats, artisan breads, produce and pastries, this store is as much a feast for the eye as for the stomach. There is a small in-store restaurant for those who really can’t tear themselves away and an equally inviting Bamford Bath & Body store next door selling organic, eco-friendly and truly luxurious beauty products.

We stopped by the National Geographic Store‘s grand opening today to check it out. From the brilliantly curated photography show in the Main Gallery to the endless stacks of travel and photography books lining the shelves, there’s a lot to love here. Staff are on hand dressed in head-to-toe khaki to direct shoppers around three floors, including outdoor clothing, culturally-inspired homeware, and even National Geographic’s own travel agency desk, NG Journeys. Our favourite bit? The cafe selling ethically-produced and fairly-traded snacks and coffee from every corner of the globe, check it out next time you are in Regent Street.

Alan Yau’s latest culinary venture, Princi, is an absolute must for design and food aficionados alike. Already a huge success in Italy, Yau and baker-extraordinaire Rocco Princi’s minimalist cafe and bakery is an inspiring example of simplicity in the heart of Soho. From the intelligently-lit long water trough, to the glistening granite-topped stone counters, to the open kitchen with wood-fired ovens, to the mouth-watering display of homemade breads, salads, antipasti and patisserie, Princi delights in every way. No wonder it’s been nicknamed “the Armani of bread”! Open until midnight daily, 135 Wardour Street, W1
At The Claska Hotel, Tokyo-there is a dog parlour called Dogmania with a waiting list of up to one year to get your pet perfectly groomed. I think they take more time than Nicky Clarke on each appointment! We also loved the design store on the first floor which is perfectly curated with during the course of Tokyo Design Week it was also a centre for lots of activity and hosted an exhibition.
Ed and Jay from Barber Osgerby were in Tokyo launching some spell-binding new lights for Floss. They held a party to celebrate last Friday and we thought it was our favourite new product we saw while we were there. There is also one in aqua marine that will come onto the market next year.
