September is always a busy month for Camron. As a leading PR agency in the design and interiors field, many of our clients are very involved in the London Design Festival. This year in addition to clients exhibiting at or organising events around the LDF, we are also handling the PR for the London Design Festival itself as well as 100% East. This year we are responsible for 14 events between 15th and 30th September. Needless to say it is all systems go at Camron Towers as we prepare to for the start next week. It is the biggest London Design Festival so far and we are very proud to be part of it. For a full list of Camron events, please download the PDF here.

Posted by Neil Byrne 12 Sep 10th Venice Biennale of Architecture

Camron has been working with C International Photo Magazine and its exhibition for the 10th Venice Biennale of Architecture. Inspired by the theme of the city, 26 artists contributed to the exhibition in the Italian Pavilion. Elena Foster and her team did an amazing curatorial job and it was one of the highlights of the Biennale.

Venice was fun, informative and memorable for many reasons: the Architectural Foundation drinks at Harry’s Dolce, the fun Venice superblog and the French Pavilion – a cultural version of Big Brother with people living in the Pavilion. Tyler’s project with The Dominican Republic in the Swiss Pavilion culminated in a wonderful dinner at The Cipriani where upon leaving we spotted Meryl Streep elegantly step out of her boat.

Upon entering the Barrett Marsden Gallery the striking form of ‘Wallflower’ is intriguing in both its simplicity and demanding aesthetics. The diagonal wall-mounted planters jut from the wall but continue out into the room to invade our floor space, and so Gschwendtner confuses the parameters of a conventional 90 degree wall-to-floor relationship.

Although small, this exhibition demands an attentive audience. It asks us to search for the subtleties and nuances in the drips and drops of glass that are dotted throughout.

Exhibition dates: 8th Sept – 7th Oct 2006. Tuesday – Friday 11am – 6pm. Saturday 11am – 4pm

17-18 Great Sutton Street, London, EC1V 0DN

It is not every day you have to experience sub zero temperatures in the name of work but Susanna and I, ever the intrepid explorers, took the plunge as our search for a venue for a client’s Christmas press reception took a decidedly chilly turn.

The Absolute Vodka Ice Bar is quite an experience. Don the rather fetching silver poncho and enter an environment made entirely of ice – well apart from the floor, ceiling, sound system and barmen!

Sitting on animal skins drinking pomegranate juice, we couldn’t help but feel that our job is quite unlike any other. We will definitely be back before Christmas to sample the extensive vodka cocktail menu.

Camron was quite literally rocked twice this week by a rather energetic jazz three piece.

The intrepid trio pitched up outside the Royal Opera House and regaled us with some excellent free form jazz on two occasions; until the pesky noise police put a stop to them.

As veterans of Covent Garden buskers we at Camron Towers were sad to see them moved on. They made a welcome change from Mr Traffic Cone Man!
