Dovecot weaving and tapestry studio in Edinburgh celebrated its centenary this summer with an exhibition of rugs and tapestries since 1912. The weavers of Dovecot have collaborated with many of the world’s best-known artists, such as Piper, Sutherland, Spencer, Paolozzi and more recently, Peter Blake and David Hockney. A book charting the studio’s illustrious history was published. And exhibition of rugs by contemporary artists entitled ‘Carpets of Distinction’, will be on show from November 2012 until January 2013.
